Sport Enhancement Certificate

A Certificate in Sport Enhancement will take your exercise sessions and training expertise a step further by developing your evidence-based exercise programming skills to support current exercise trends. Through our hybrid format, including hands-on experience during residency weekends, the program focuses on performance optimization to develop proficiency in advanced testing/assessment methods to emphasize client programming and meeting their performance optimization goals.

About the Program

The certificate offers flexibility by combining asynchronous online content and face-to-face residency weekends to incorporate hands-on skill development immediately applicable to your work with athletes and clients.

The certificate is three courses, 9 credits, designed to be standalone or as the foundation for our Master of Science in Sport Performance degree, giving you a head-start toward degree completion. Either way, you and your clients benefit from scientifically supported advanced knowledge and skills.

  • You’ll learn from NSCA-CSCS certified health science faculty who are engaged in research with athletes and clinical practice
  • One course/semester—complete your certificate in less than one year.

Admission Requirements

Applicants who possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university will be considered for admission pending a review of the following requirements:

  • Lebanon Valley College graduate online application
  • An official transcript from your undergraduate college or university showing a minimum college GPA of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale) and the completion of the required pre-requisite courses; any applicants not meeting this standard will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
    • Official transcripts should be signed and sealed by the issuing school and mailed to the Graduate Admission Office.
    • Secure, electronic delivery to graduateadmission@lvc.edu is also available.
    • Institutions outside of the United States must be recognized as a degree-granting institution in its home country. A course-by-course evaluation of all foreign university transcripts by an independent service based in the United States is required. World Education Services (WES) and SpanTran Evaluation Services are two suggested evaluators. Please have your official evaluation sent directly to Lebanon Valley College.
  • A personal statement (maximum 500 words) focused on the potential benefits of the certificate program for your professional aspirations.
  • A current professional résumé.
