Assistant Professor of Organ and Piano

The Lebanon Valley College Department of Music invites applications for the position of assistant professor of Organ and Piano. This is a full-time, nine-month, three-year renewable contract position, beginning in August 2026. Candidates must have professional experience in private organ and piano instruction, church music, accompanying soloists and chamber ensembles, and class piano. Additional possible duties include administering piano competency, handbell ensemble, and overseeing the international student exchange program.  Previous teaching experience, a collaborative spirit, and continued scholarly activity is paramount. The successful candidate will be expected to recruit and retain exceptional students. A doctorate degree in organ or one of the other domains as outlined above is preferred. Candidates with a master’s degree and exceptional performing and teaching experience may be considered. Founding Chair of the Master of Occupational Therapy Program

Lebanon Valley College invites nominations and applications for the position of Founding Chair in the developing Master of Occupational Therapy Program (MSOT). This is a full-time, 12-month faculty appointment with administrative responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will provide dynamic, entrepreneurial leadership in developing, launching, and securing accreditation for this innovative, hybrid-delivery graduate program. The founding chair will be responsible for all aspects of program development, including curriculum design, accreditation application, faculty recruitment, space planning, and establishing clinical partnerships. The MSOT program will utilize a hybrid model, combining online learning with intensive on-campus lab experiences. The chair position is fully on campus / in person.

The newly developing program will join the other existing health science programs including Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Nursing, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Exercise Science, and Athletic Training. The MSOT program will utilize lab space in the 60,000 sq ft Arnold Health Professions Pavilion which includes flexible classroom space with technologies that enhance teaching, a full equipped human performance lab, and a ten-table gross anatomy lab. Adjacent space in our newly built Nursing building also includes simulation labs and a home health set-up.

The ideal candidate will have an academic terminal degree (PhD, EdD, ScD) and have current NBCOT certification and eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Pennsylvania. Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of experience as an OT, including three years of full-time academic experience at the post-baccalaureate level. Candidates must have experience in administration, curriculum development, and ACOTE accreditation processes. Candidates also must have experience with hybrid or online educational delivery models. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice

The Lebanon Valley College Department of Social Sciences invites applications for the position of assistant professor of Criminal Justice. The successful candidate is preferably a Criminologist, however a candidate with training in Sociology, Political Science or History who can explain the social origins of crime would qualify. This is a full-time, nine-month, 3-year renewable position beginning in August 2026. Responsibilities include teaching a broad variety of undergraduate courses in criminal justice and criminology such as the Introduction to Criminal Justice, Juvenile Justice; Victimology; and Corrections.  Candidates should have an excellent record of teaching with a demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate level and  possess a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or a closely related field. ABD’s will be considered but the doctorate must be completed before starting date. Additional responsibilities include maintaining regular office hours, attending faculty and department meetings, advising students, and assisting in the recruiting and retention of students.

Assistant Professor of Political Science

The Social Sciences Department at Lebanon Valley College is seeking applicants for an assistant professor of Political Science. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure track position beginning in August 2026. The successful candidate will teach a wide variety of courses in political science such as: American government, state and local government; international relations; comparative government, etc. Those with training in American government preferred.  The program also has a minor in Law and Society so please address how you would offer classes courses on constitutional law and how law has shaped the United States. Candidates need to have PhD; ABDs will be considered; completion of degree is required prior to the start of the position.

Assistant Professor of Video, Visual Communications & Social Media

The Lebanon Valley College Department of Design, Media, & Technology seeks an assistant professor of video, visual communications & social media. The assistant professor is a visual storyteller and communicator who specializes in video and short-form video across communications fields—from social media to advertising, public relations, and emerging digital platforms. This is a full-time, nine-month, 3-year renewable position beginning in August 2026. This successful candidate will play a role in our video and communications curriculum by preparing digital media majors to create compelling visual narratives, adapt content for diverse audiences, and navigate rapidly evolving media environments that increasingly integrate AI-assisted workflows. Candidates must hold a graduate degree (terminal degree preferred) in Communications, Digital Media, or related field, demonstrated expertise in video/visual content creation and social media strategy, have strong creative/professional portfolio, experience in communications or digital media, and familiarity with AI-assisted content creation, media analytics, and emerging platforms. The ability to teach Information Law & Ethics is a plus.

Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology

We are excited to invite qualified candidates to apply for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting July 2026. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive academic community dedicated to excellence in speech-language pathology education and clinical practice. Applicants must hold an earned doctorate (EdD, PhD, or ABD), with priority given to expertise in medical pediatrics, augmentative and alternative communication, and cleft and craniofacial disorders. Candidates must also possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC/SLP) from ASHA and have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a speech-language pathologist. The successful candidate will teach two graduate-level medical pediatric courses:

  • SLP 721: Pediatric Swallowing (2 credits, Fall)
  • SLP 747: Cleft Palate & Craniofacial Disorders (2 credits, Spring)

Additional duties include providing clinical supervision in their areas of expertise, advising both undergraduate and graduate students, supporting student research, and contributing to our vibrant on-campus clinical program. Faculty members also engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching, academic advising, and clinical supervision.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Physical Therapy

Lebanon Valley College invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, tenure track, assistant/associate professor of physical therapy in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Responsibilities include teaching and active participation in scholarly activities, clinical activities, and professional service. Preference will be given to individuals with expertise in, but not limited to, biomechanics, clinical examination, and/or clinical interventions.

Anticipated start date is January 2026; salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Completion of an academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) in Physical Therapy or a related discipline or being enrolled in a post-professional doctoral program is preferred. Previous teaching experience and evidence of scholarship is also preferred. Pennsylvania licensure eligibility is required.

Assistant Professor of Engineering Physics

The Department of Physics at Lebanon Valley College (LVC) invites applications for a full-time (9-month), tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Engineering Physics starting in August 2026.  A Ph.D. in engineering or physics, with expertise in mechanical engineering, engineering physics, applied physics, or a related field, is required. The successful candidate will have demonstrated effective teaching at the undergraduate level, the ability to establish a high-level research program that substantively includes undergraduates and has the potential to be awarded external funding, and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and belonging in education.  Postdoctoral research or industry experience is preferred but not required.

The successful candidate will oversee the Engineering Physics major and 3+2 Engineering program. They will be responsible for developing and teaching sophomore- and senior/capstone-level courses in engineering design and process and an upper-level course in engineering mechanics, as well as contribute to introductory physics courses. The candidate must be able to guide students in hands-on projects that involve computer-aided design/manufacturing, fabrication, and circuit design. In addition, there exist opportunities for engaging in LVC’s vital general education curriculum. Candidates with experience in innovative teaching pedagogies and learning technologies are encouraged to apply. The standard teaching load is 4 courses (12 credit hours) per semester. The successful candidate will also be expected to advise students and perform departmental and college-wide service.

The department has two endowed professorships, the Dr. Elizabeth M. Bains ‘64 Professorship in Physics and the Dr. James A. Bains Jr. Professorship in Physics, that rotate between faculty members on a three-year basis. Each provides $5,000 per year in discretionary funds to the recipients to be used for research-related activities like equipment purchases and conference travel (in addition to the start-up funds provided to the new hire and the yearly department budget accessible to all faculty members). The new hire will begin their appointment receiving the Dr. James A. Bains Jr. Professorship in Physics.

The department offers majors in Physics (with an optional concentration in Computational Physics), Engineering Physics, and has a 3+2 Engineering program with a cooperative agreement with Case Western Reserve University. The Engineering Physics major at LVC launched in fall 2024, supported by an over $6 million bequest from alumna Dr. Elizabeth M. Bains ’64 and her husband, Dr. James A. Bains Jr. The gift will support the construction of a new Engineering Physics lab and research space, the purchase of teaching and research lab equipment, and increased stipends and travel funds for student-faculty research.
