This fall or spring semester program offers students the opportunity to take four courses (16 credits) in almost any subject area at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.

As Australia’s second largest city, Melbourne offers an amazing lifestyle for college students. There is a thriving live music and cultural scene, and close proximity to bayside beaches & adventurous outdoor activities. Sydney and Tasmania are only one hour away by plane. Melbourne has all of the advantages of an international city with thousands of restaurants & bars serving many different kinds of national cuisines. The city has an excellent public transportation system with trains, trolleys & buses.

There is a mandatory set of pre-departure sessions at Lebanon Valley College for all students planning to participate in the program. Students will also attend an on-site orientation at Monash University.

Program Details

Students will live in a residence hall with single rooms. Students will have the ability to prepare their own meals in a shared kitchen or purchase meals on or off campus.

Students will select up to 4 courses, worth 4 credits each, in various subject areas. Courses may fulfill major/minor requirements, general education requirements or general elective credits.

*Meals, round trip airfare, immigration and personal expenses are not included in program cost. LVC provides a $400 airfare stipend to all participants. A $25 deposit is due with application.  Accepted students owe a $175 program deposit by the application deadline.

Tuition and Scholarships: Most LVC Students will receive their financial aid in full for all semester-long study abroad and study away programs. Allwein scholars will receive 50% of their full-tuition scholarship for semester-long study abroad and study away programs. The $2,500/year Allwein stipend may be used to supplement the reduction in scholarship. Tuition Exchange and Tuition Remission recipients will receive the value of the Mary A. Weiss Scholarship for semester-long study abroad programs. The value will be the equivalent to the value awarded to the same year’s incoming class. Additional LVC study abroad scholarship funding, based on eligibility, is available for this program.

Students from any major who are in good social and academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA) may apply.

Students can explore multiple attractions in and around Melbourne, travel to Sydney, the Outback, the Gold Coast and the Great Barrier reef on long weekends and the mid-semester break.
