This four-week study abroad program in Prague offers LVC students the opportunity to solve problems, explore new cultural norms, and experience the lifestyle in the Czech Republic.

Lying at the heart of Europe, Prague is full of hidden courtyards, winding streets, traditional pubs, and eye-catching architecture that are uniquely juxtaposed with the city’s very modern business and academic opportunities.

Students will study at the CEA CAPA Prague Center, an international education provider offering premier academic programs for U.S. college and university students and provider of LVC’s semester study abroad program in France. Prague has spread over its hills, up river valleys, and along riverside terraces. The city is known for an active musical life, theatrical traditions, and numerous museums and galleries.

Program Details

Program cost for Summer 2026 is $5,050 and will include:

  • Tuition (6 credits)
  • Housing in shared apartments
  • Excursions and cultural activities
  • Foreign emergency medical insurance

Meals, airfare/travel, and personal expenses are not included in the program cost.

Study abroad grant funding is available based on eligibility. In addition, this program may be eligible for limited financial aid. Please read the 2025–26 Summer Financial Aid Application instructions on the Financial Aid website for additional information and submit an application to the Financial Aid Office.

Summer Study in Prague 2026 dates are May 27–June 26, 2026.

Application Deadline: February 1

  • Applications must be accompanied by a deposit payment of $200 (non-refundable after February 1).
  • Remaining balance is due March 15

Students will earn a total of six credits, fulfill one Immersive Experience (IME) requirement, and general education requirement for Human Diversity (HD) through a mandatory course instructed by an LVC faculty director, and an elective course taught by the host institute.

MANDATORY COURSE (3 credits):

Cross Cultural Psychology Abroad
Instructor: Dr. Rachel Albert
Students will immerse themselves in the rich cultural landscape of Prague, Czech Republic by exploring the intersections of culture and psychology. Further, through experiential learning, students will gain a deeper understanding of how culture influences the mind and how psychology has evolved across time and place.

ELECTIVE COURSE (3 credits)
Students will select one course from the summer course offerings at the CEA CAPE Prague Center including architecture and art in the golden city, Czech culture – food & brewing tradition, and sport & culture in contemporary Czech Republic. Prerequisites:

  • Students from any major who are in good social and academic standing with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA may apply. PSY 110 or PSY 125 are the required prerequisites that give students the necessary foundation to fully engage in the mandatory course.
