LVC Community Celebrates Homecoming During Beautiful Weekend

2025 LVC Alumni Awards honorees

Lebanon Valley College alumni, families, students, and friends celebrated a three-day Homecoming Weekend, Oct. 10-12. Over 2,000 people participated in an ideal fall Homecoming Weekend sponsored by Clark Associates Inc.

The weekend kicked off with the annual LVC Dutchmen Classic Golf Tournament at Fairview Golf on Friday morning, with a packed field out to support LVC Athletics. The first day also included a Chemistry lecture by Dr. Thomas Gordon ’07, senior product development manager of Adhesive Research, followed by the highly anticipated annual reveal of this year’s Flying Dutchmen Ale.

That evening, eight former star student-athletes were inducted into the LVC Athletic Hall of Fame, Class of 2025: Zachary D. Bleiler ’11 (Football/Men’s Track & Field), Daniel J. Brooks ’13 (Men’s Basketball), Joelle Snyder Hurst ’11 (Women’s Volleyball), Dr. Valerie M. Malizzia ’11, D’13 (Softball), Christine Becker Robinson ’73 (Field Hockey), Jason C. Say ’95 (Men’s Basketball), Kevin L. Wagner ’93 (Baseball), and Scott G. Young ’92 (Men’s Cross Country/Track & Field). During the ceremony, LVC also honored Jim “Jimmie” Pogue ’80 with the Inaugural Courage Award, now named in his honor.

Simultaneously, six graduates were honored with 2025 Alumni Awards: Barbara “Bobbie” Macaw Atkinson ’67 accepted The Betty C. Hungerford ’54, H’09 Award for Distinguished Service to Lebanon Valley College. Dr. David E. Myers ’70 received The Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award for his nationwide contributions to Music and Music Education. Deborah Strickler Freer ’71 received an Alumni Citation for her extensive statewide work with the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.

Tyler Frantz ’07, M’20 was honored with the June Herr Outstanding Educator of the Year Award for his groundbreaking work in STEM Education. Lauren Fulmer Fenner ’13, CPA, received The Young Alumni Award. Cody Kelly ’16, who also has an LVC Modern Band Certificate, was recognized with the D. Clark Carmean Award in Admission.

The weekend concluded with a Jazz Band Concert, part of the Wengert Jazz Artist Series, featuring a combined performance by LVC’s Valley Jazz Orchestra and the Harrisburg Jazz Collective.
