Dr. Terri Worthey Appointed Interim Chair of Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program

Dr. Michelle Maldonado, Provost of Lebanon Valley College, announced that nurse educator Terri Worthey, Ph.D., RN, CNE will serve as Interim Chair of LVC’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program for the 2025–26 academic year.

Worthey comes to LVC from South University, where she was Program Director and Associate Professor of the online RN-BSN program. She holds a Ph.D. from Mercer University, MSN from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and BSN from the University of North Georgia. She was named Nurse Researcher of the Year by the Georgia Association of Nurse Educators and received the Innovative Teacher Award from the University of North Georgia.

“Dr. Worthey is a highly experienced nurse educator and program director with over 18 years of leadership in RN-BSN, BSN, and ASN programs,” said Maldonado. “She brings to LVC vast expertise in leading nursing programs, innovative teaching strategies, student development, and data analysis. We look forward to welcoming her to our community.”

The Founding Chair of LVC’s BSN program, Colleen L. Marshall, Ph.D., FNP-C, will pursue her longstanding passion for clinical practice after joining the College in 2022. Marshall shepherded the BSN program from its inception through to its 2024 accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

It has been a true honor to serve as the inaugural chair and to work alongside such dedicated students, faculty, and staff,” said Marshall. “I am incredibly proud of the growth and success of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program—from its early development to reaching full enrollment. The nurses who graduate from Lebanon Valley College will undoubtedly make a meaningful and lasting impact on the health of our communities for years to come.”

Worthey will welcome the fourth entering class of BSN students to The Valley, where they will learn in the Nursing Education Facility, which includes simulation and skills laboratory spaces and manikin simulators. LVC Nursing majors learn to solve real-world problems and build relationships with coworkers in clinical settings. They gain hands-on experience at numerous healthcare facilities, including Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Lebanon VA Hospital, and WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
