Welcoming Refugees
As central Pennsylvania, including Lebanon County, welcomes more refugees from conflicts and disasters worldwide, how will WE welcome our new neighbors? In recent years, Dr. Rick Chamberlin, Associate Professor of German, French, & Global Studies, has volunteered for Church World Services, an organization that assists in the resettlement and integration of refugees in our area. He will share his experiences in helping new French-speaking arrivals from Haiti, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Tunisia and elsewhere as they try to build a new life in our community. He will also discuss opportunities for us in the LVC community to inform ourselves and to welcome and show our support for our new neighbors.
