Pizza with Professionals: Cybersecurity
Join the Breen Center for a Pizza With Professionals to learn more about cybersecurity and what we can do in the workplace to prevent data breaches.
Dr. Mustafa Kirisci, Assistant Professor of Cyber Defense and Homeland Security and Director of Master of Science in Intelligence and Cybersecurity, will discuss China-linked cyberattacks targeting U.S. telecommunications companies and government agencies, highlighting their adversarial impact on national security. He will also offer practical recommendations for enhancing data security and protecting personal information.
Leslie Vanbelkum, adjunct faculty in the M.S. in Intelligence and Cybersecurity program, will talk about the recent leak of classified war plans concerning Yemen via the Signal app. He will explore why the incident constitutes a major security breach, how it exposed critical strategic thinking, and the broader implications of the sensitive information revealed to foreign competitors.
