Explore the World Through Film: The Lives of Others (2006)

Join us for a viewing and discussion of The Lives of Others (2006). Discussion will be led by Joerg Meindl, Associate Professor of German and Global Studies, at the end of the film.

About the Film: In 1983 East Berlin, a Stasi officer is assigned to spy on a playwright and his actress lover. As he grows sympathetic to the couple, he is forced to choose between his loyalty to the state and his conscience when his superior targets the actress for his own desires.
