Ujima Overnight

Ujima (pronounced oo-JEE-mah) is a Swahili word and the third principle of Kwanzaa meaning collective work and responsibility.

During the Ujima overnight accepted ALANA* students are invited to campus to spend the night with other ALANA identifying students. Current upperclassmen volunteer to host prospective incoming students. Students finish their time on campus by attending LVC LIVE on Saturday morning.

Ujima, as principle and practice, means that we accept collective responsibility for our lessons, setbacks, victories, and achievements.
