Physical therapy students study abroad in Poland during summer 2023.

Poland is located in Central Europe and is full of natural beauty, rich history, and amazing food from the mountains, national parks and rugged coastlines. Poland is divided into 16 provinces with Warsaw as the capital, and students will be traveling through much of the country. Most Polish cities have well-developed public transport networks, making it very easy to navigate, with rail travel being the most popular. Students will visit several cultural sites including old town Warsaw, Wawel Royal Castle in Krakow, Auschwitz concentration camp, and other important historical sites.

This very unique 3-week study abroad program will broaden participants’ knowledge about physical therapy and exercise sport services offered by various health care and sport facilities in Poland. The primary learning goal of the course aims to familiarize future healthcare and wellness providers with Eastern European organizations and functioning as an alternative to the US healthcare system. Students will visit university sports facilities, hospitals, a health resort, an underground respiratory clinic, and PT/fitness facilities.
