LVC Guiding Principles for Inclusive Excellence
The purpose of Inclusive Excellence at Lebanon Valley College is to intentionally cultivate an inclusive community where every individual is seen, valued, and connected. By making inclusion a way of being and belonging a shared, lived experience, we affirm that equity and excellence are achieved together—through a community that thrives on connection, respect, and mutual empowerment.
As Members of Lebanon Valley College:
We commit to Inclusion, Civility, Justice, and Equality, – knowing that these values form an inclusive community that is a source of safety, creativity, and resilience that is the foundation of success.
We celebrate what makes us unique, – honoring our shared humanity and recognizing that our differences enrich our perspectives and strengthen our community.
We seek to understand one another, – cultivating relationships that inspire innovation, compassion, empathy, and trust.
We embrace cultural humility and inclusivity, – learning from the wide-ranging stories, perspectives, and lived experiences within our community that deepen our empathy.
We empower and uplift each other, – ensuring everyone feels a sense of belonging that fosters sustainable growth and achievement.
We commit to showing up as our authentic selves, – creating a space where everyone can thrive, be seen, be respected, and valued for who they are.
