On Tuesday, March 31, Lebanon Valley College will cancel classes to help its students focus on the future. LVC’s 4th Annual Advising & Career Exploration Day (LVC Success Expo) welcomes LVC students, staff, faculty, and Valley alumni to attend an all-majors jobs & internships fair (Pathway to Professions). A record number of 65 businesses and organizations are registered to attend.
The LVC Success Expo, created and organized by the College’s Edward and Lynn Breen Center for Career and Professional Development team, will, in addition to Pathways to Professions, include workshops, presentations, and mentoring sessions to prepare for career and life success. Nearly 100 high school students will also be in attendance to hear a keynote speaker, tour simulation spaces and the eSports arena, and learn firsthand from LVC students about the lessons they gained from their internships. Schools attending: Conestoga Valley, ELCO, Greencastle-Antrim, Hempfield, Middletown, New Covenant Christian, and Susquehanna Township.
“Concurrent with academic advising, LVC cancels classes on this day, illustrating our commitment to student achievement and career success, and their interconnectedness,” said Dr. T. Horning, Vice President of College Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives, who is responsible for the Breen Center. “Designed to provide time for advisors to support students’ academic goals and to equip them with the professional tools they need for life after LVC, programming throughout the day focuses on networking opportunities and Adulting 101 sessions where alumni and friends share real-world insights students need for a successful transition after college.”
