The Examined Life: An Undergraduate Conference in the Liberal Arts

Mund Underground and Zimmerman Recital Hall

This conference is rooted in the traditions of the liberal arts and will explore the theme “Living Deliberately” by engaging ethical and philosophical questions that shape everyday life. Students are invited to reflect on the values that define their identity, influence our shared social fabric, and give meaning to human existence. In a time marked by rapid technological change, social isolation, and political fragmentation, the conference encourages thoughtful dialogue about intentional living, ethical decision-making, and the pursuit of the common good. Attendees will engage with enduring questions such as: What does it mean to be human, and how should we live in an increasingly complex world? While this conference will be student-led (students will be presenting their own work) we welcome all who are passionate about inquiry, reflection, and the examined life to attend.
