Strength & Conditioning Specialization
The Strength and Conditioning specialization within the Exercise Science major prepares students to design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based training programs for athletes and physically active individuals. This concentration emphasizes advanced exercise physiology, applied biomechanics, and program design principles tailored to optimizing performance and reducing injury risk.
Students gain hands-on experience in resistance training techniques, athlete monitoring, and sport-specific conditioning while developing professional competencies outlined by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). The curriculum aligns with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to pursue the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential.
Graduates of this specialization are well-equipped for careers in strength and conditioning, athletic performance, tactical strength and conditioning, private training facilities, and graduate study in related health and performance fields.
