LVC Receives Suicide Prevention Institution Designation
Lebanon Valley College obtained the PA CARES Certified Suicide Prevention Institution of Higher Education Designation this summer from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. LVC is one of 25 colleges in Pennsylvania with the PA CARES designation. This newly created recognition ensures postsecondary students have access to support, tools, and resources to learn and succeed.
“Lebanon Valley College is committed to providing mental health resources and support to help our students thrive academically and socially,” said LVC President Dr. James MacLaren.
LVC’s Division of Student Affairs and Counseling Services collaborated to create and implement a Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Plan. The College’s plan outlines multiple campus resources available to students, including student leaders who complete Question Persuade Refer Training. Counseling Services also hosts workshops and activities for students throughout the year.
