Lebanon Valley College Welcomes Four New Allwein Scholars

Lebanon Valley College will welcome four new Allwein Scholars as part of the Class of 2029 that will arrive this fall. Chauncey Adams III, Megan Albrecht, Sophia Calderone, and Maci Reismiller will receive full tuition to LVC, and three $2,500 stipends for academic purposes such as studying abroad, experiencing internships, or conducting research.

The Allwein Scholarship, established in 2014 through a gift from Dr. John “Jack” Bowman Allwein ’56, has been awarded to 48 talented and hard-working students.

Chauncey Adams III, an Engineering Physics major from Owings Mills, Md., and a graduate of Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School. Chauncey joined Project Lead The Way, a pre-engineering pathway for high school students interested in exploring the engineering field. Chauncey, who toured prospective students through his high school program, has a strong passion for helping others. Chauncey hopes to pursue a career in aerospace or materials engineering.

Megan Albrecht, a Biology and Political Science major from Wyoming, Pa., and a graduate of Holy Redeemer High School. Megan will compete on the Flying Dutchmen Women’s Basketball team after playing basketball, lacrosse, and volleyball in high school. She competed in Science Olympiad, served as vice president of Student Council, and was secretary of the Pre-Health Professions Club and National Honor Society.

Sophia Calderone, a Business Administration major from Ronks, Pa., and a graduate of Conestoga Valley High School. Sophia launched her own business, Sophia’s Dog Walking, and designed a website to fundraise for the American Cancer Society. She participated in numerous student clubs, including Student Council, National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, and Impact. A three-sport athlete who played tennis, soccer, and lacrosse, Sophia also served as secretary of Students Against Destructive Decisions and her high school class. She completed the Next Generation Discovering Paths program through the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce.

Maci Reismiller, a Biology major from Gordon, Pa., and a graduate of North Schuylkill High School. Maci graduated as class salutatorian and participated in soccer, cheerleading, and many student clubs. She held numerous leadership positions, serving as president of Science Honor Society, treasurer of her class and National Honor Society, and secretary of Student Council. Maci plans to pursue Optometry with a goal of working with International Service Learning to help distribute eyewear and conduct screenings for children in less fortunate countries.
