Equipment and Instrumentation
Neidig-Garber Science Center upholds a more than 50-year tradition of student-faculty research using state-of-the-art scientific equipment.
The revitalized Neidig-Garber Science Center offers biology, chemistry, and physics students laboratory experiences with a range of equipment and instrumentation. Neidig-Garber Science Center has:
- eight teaching laboratories including two first-year labs
- nine student research laboratories
- a biotechnology suite
- a microscopy suite with SEM and TEM
- two greenhouses
- an animal room with cage washer
- an aquatics room
- cell and tissue culture rooms
- photographic darkrooms and a printing room
- a walk-in environmental chamber
- wireless access through the entire building
- several study rooms and lounge areas
Students benefit from hands-on training with modern instrumentation. Major teaching/research instrumentation includes:

- Zeiss transmission electron microscope

- fluorescence microscopes
- IWorx data collections stations in the physiology labs

- a Panasonic micro-video system
- projection systems for micro-video cameras
