Service Awards & Honor Society
The Student Affairs Department recognizes those who have demonstrated a commitment to serving their community and proven leadership in their contributions towards social change. Students who meet the following criteria are presented with the Community Impact Award and receive graduation regalia to reflect their accomplishments.
LVC Service Awards
Note: Service hours must be entered through the GivePulse system by the first week in April of the student’s graduating year OR have hours approved by Student Affairs if they will be performed outside of this submission deadline in order to be considered for a service award.
Honored to graduating seniors based on number of hours completed throughout a student’s LVC academic career.
- Bronze Level: Participants who complete at least 25 hours of service
- Silver Level: Participants who complete at least 60 hours of service
- Gold Level: Participants who complete at least 100 hours of service AND attend a service trip, OR participants who complete at least 250 hours of service
Presented to those students who complete at least 100 hours of service to the community over the course of one academic year. Students are eligible for this award every year that they are enrolled at the College.
Presented to those graduating seniors who have completed at least 300 hours of service to the community throughout their time as an LVC student.
Presented to those graduating seniors who have completed at least 500 hours of service to the community throughout their time as an LVC student.
Presented to the graduating senior who has completed the highest number of hours in service to the community. The recipient of this award will receive a monetary award made to the charity their choice.
Phi Alpha Epsilon (the Greek initial letters of the words, “lover of learning and finder of truth”), the College’s honor society, was established in 1935 and recognizes undergraduate academic achievement and service to others. Inductees are formally welcomed into the society at a spring banquet.
To be eligible for this award, students must:
- Achieve a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.600,
- Complete at least 45 credits of coursework at LVC, and
- Achieve the “bronze” level of service hours (as determined by Service and Community Engagement) by the end of the fall semester before graduation.
