Full-Time Employee Benefits Overview
Medical Insurance
The College provides two medical insurance options for full-time employees and their dependents.
Section 125 Plan
The College offers a modified cafeteria plan under Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code. Employees can pay health care premiums on a pre-tax basis and may also establish a Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and a Dependent Care Account.
Retirement Plan
Participation in the College’s Retirement Plan through TIAA is voluntary. Employees who contribute at least 5% of gross base salary monthly receive a 9% College contribution. The plan is fully vested immediately.
Group Life Insurance
All full-time employees are covered by a group term life insurance plan and accidental death & dismemberment plan. Employees who are younger than age 55 are insured at an amount equal to their annual salary up to $50,000. Benefits are reduced beginning at age 55.
Short-Term Disability
Short-term disability is available after one year of service and may be used for extended medical absences. Benefits vary based on length of service.
Long Term Disability
Long-term disability is available after one year of service and begins after six months of disability. The benefit provides 60% of base salary, up to $7,500 per month.
Child Birth/Parental Leave
After one year of full-time service, female employees receive six weeks of paid medical leave for childbirth, and after two years, all parents (female or male) receive two weeks of paid parental leave.
Adoption Leave
After two years of continuous service, primary caregivers of children under 6 years of age receive four weeks of adoption leave.
Sick Leave
Full-time non-faculty employees receive ten sick days per year, which may be used to care for an ill family member, with up to two days allowed as personal days (sick leave does not accrue).
Tuition Remission
Full-time employees receive 100% remission of undergraduate and master’s level tuition at LVC with no waiting period. Spouses and dependent children become eligible for 100% remission of undergraduate tuition after a two-year waiting period.
Tuition Exchange
Dependent children are eligible for up to 100% tuition at participating exchange schools, as determined by the host institution, after two years of service. Restrictions apply. More info and a list of participating schools are available at www.tuitionexchange.org.
Vacation
Full-time 12-month employees earn vacation on a pro-rated basis: 15 days per year for one to six years of service, 20 days after six years, and 25 days after 20 years, with additional days pro-rated as of the anniversary date. Faculty do not have a formal vacation benefit.
Employee Assistance Program
The EAP offers full-time employees, their spouses, and dependent children three professional counseling sessions per year; to access services, call 1-800-364-6352.

Child Care Discount
The College partners with the Luthercare (Emma C. Berger) Child Care Center in Annville to provide a 10% discount on childcare services. Call the Center for registration and enrollment information 717-867-4660.
Bishop Library
Free use of the library materials including new release books, DVD’s, and music.
LVC Gear Shop
10% discount at the LVC Gear Shop located in the Mund College Center.
LVC Sports Center
All full-time LVC employees are eligible to receive a membership which includes unlimited fitness classes. Spouses/domestic partners and qualified dependents (18 years of age and younger) are eligible for a membership for a one-time processing fee of $10.
Technology Discounts
Verizon and AT&T customers receive up to an 18% discount off their monthly bill. Discounts are also available for purchasing Dell, Lenovo and Apple products for personal use, and with Journey Ed for purchasing software.
