Intersections of Academics and Art

Housed in a former church in the gothic-revival style, the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery hosts five to six exhibitions a year, with loans from major national and regional art museums, galleries, and collectors. Exhibitions are made possible by The Friends of the Gallery, the Gallery’s membership group, as well as other generous sponsors.

Gallery Semester Hours

Wednesday: 5–8 p.m.
Thursday–Friday: 1–4:30 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
By appointment for tour groups. (Please contact the Gallery at 717-867-6445 or gallery@lvc.edu to arrange a private Gallery talk for your school or organization. Admission is free.)

Art Evolved: Intertwined

Beauty and function blend and diverge in the hands of the contemporary artist. Even when traditional materials such as thread, fabric, wood, reed, and paper are used, artists must combine skill, imagination, and vision to meld their materials into compelling art that resonates in today’s world. This exhibition, organized by Studio Art Quilt Associates and the National Basketry Organization, brings together two ancient art forms—quilting and basketry. Artists from both organizations participate in a lively conversation between forms and media.
