M.S. in Sport Performance Program Goals & Objectives

Program Goal 1: Graduates will demonstrate broad-based skills and knowledge necessary for effective assessment of human movement. 

  • Graduates will demonstrate broad-based skills and knowledge necessary to effectively conduct clinical rehabilitation assessment. 
  • Graduates will demonstrate broad-based skills and knowledge necessary for effective implementation of clinical rehabilitation principles. 
  • Program graduates will demonstrate safe and effective exercise administration.  
  • Program graduates will demonstrate knowledge of foundational exercise science principles.  

 

Program Goal 2: Graduates will effectively communicate in a professional manner  with peers, clients, and other healthcare professionals 

  • Program graduates will demonstrate competent verbal and written professional communication 
  • Graduates will demonstrate effective coaching/instruction techniques to facilitate adherence to a personalized exercise prescription 

 

Program Goal 3: Graduates will demonstrate skills needed to perform evidence-based research.  

  • Graduates will demonstrate the ability to critically appraise current evidence in exercise science.
