Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program Mission

The mission of the Lebanon Valley College Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is to prepare empathic counselors who have a strong foundation of knowledge, think critically and creatively to address complex issues, are committed to inclusive practices, and meet credentialing standards of their respective counseling profession. The Program prepares students who:

  • Uphold professional ethical standards,
  • Are growth-oriented, professional, and flexible,
  • Embrace multicultural counseling, diversity, and social justice advocacy,
  • Exhibit proficient counseling skills in a wide variety of professional counseling settings,
  • Adhere to best practices of trauma-informed care, and
  • Use empirically based research to inform their counseling practice.
