Dr. Shelly Disser is a renowned trailblazer in healthcare data management strategy, archiving, analytics, and business intelligence. Disser is credited with helping birth the legacy data archiving field as the founder of Legacy Data Access (LDA) in the same era Tony Paparella founded her then-competitor, MediQuant. Her current passion is unleashing the power of legacy data analytics to improve health insights and outcomes and bringing her knowledge and experience to the students she teaches in multiple MBA programs.

Disser views data “as the key to unlocking improvements in both operations and care, as long as it is available in a context that can be understood across the board.” She shares the vision that 30 years of legacy data can bring tremendous value to the hospital as a potential research database and revenue stream.

Disser has contributed much to the industry. For clients with large portfolios, she has improved enterprise-wide solutions delivery, from pre-contract planning to contract execution and implementation. She is now realizing her personal dream of designing and teaching undergraduate and master’s courses in business, technology, and healthcare informatics.

Disser holds an MBA from Kennesaw State University, Michael J. Coles College of Business, and a DBA from Georgia State University, J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
