Professor Claire Gothreau earned her Ph.D. in Political Science from Temple University. Before joining the faculty at Lebanon Valley College, she was a Research Associate at the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) at Rutgers University and held postdoctoral fellowships at Aarhus University in Denmark and the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy at Dartmouth College. Professor Gothreau is a political psychologist whose research examines how social identities shape political attitudes, behavior, and representation. Her work focuses on the role of identity in American politics, with particular attention to inequalities in political engagement and participation.
