Who We Are

The Office of Information Technology is responsible for the management, operation, and support of the College’s computer and communications systems. This includes the campus network and Internet connection, servers, desktop and laptop computers, as well as the College’s telephone system, wireless phones, and educational technology.

The Office of Information Technology is also responsible for the Dutchman OneCard system and for the College’s administrative information systems used for registration, billing, financial aid, student recruiting, and fundraising. Representatives from the Office of Information Technology support faculty, staff, and students engaged in the teaching and learning process.

The IT Solutions Center is your destination for addressing all your technology needs.  We are staffed by a dedicated team of IT professionals who can help you find the right solution.  Whether you’re facing a software issue, need help with hardware, or are looking for guidance on implementing new technology, our knowledgeable staff is here to assist you.  We are committed to providing tailored solutions to what you need. With a focus on innovation and user satisfaction, we are ready to help you enhance your overall technology experience.

What We Do
  • Support campus-wide technology needs, including purchases, solutions, and training
  • Plan and coordinate enterprise systems for data integration and reporting
  • Develop and maintain custom applications and solutions to support LVC’s mission
  • Protect personal and institutional data through strong privacy and security practices
  • Track and manage all college-owned technology assets
  • Implement, manage, and support essential infrastructure, including servers, networks, telecommunications, and ID Cards
  • Support security cameras, emergency systems and response teams, and disaster preparation, response, and recovery efforts
Sustainability

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is a leader on Lebanon Valley College’s campus in sustainable practices.

  • Purchase of Energy Smart servers, RoHS-compliant network equipment, EPEAT Silver or higher desktops, laptops, and printers.
  • Installation of multifunction devices (printer/scanner/copier/fax) where possible, and purchase re-manufactured printer toners and recycle cartridges.
  • Donation of used equipment to non-profit organizations and those in need before recycling all remaining servers, computers, network, and printer equipment. Equipment from LVC has been donated all over the world, including Haiti, Lithuania, Ukraine, and Zimbabwe!
  • Participation in all College paper, glass, and cardboard recycling programs and recycles packing materials. In addition, OIT recycles out-of-service or scrap copper wire.
  • Implementation of virtualization in all data centers to reduce power consumption on campus
