African American Read-In
The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging will host LVC’s second annual African American Read-In to celebrate Black History Month. This event will honor and shed light on the amazingly talented Black writers who have contributed so much to Black culture throughout the world.
Participants are asked to come prepared to read a passage, excerpt, or poem from a Black author or poet that speaks to them in an exciting or moving way. We ask that all excerpts be no longer than 10 minutes, and that all pieces be from a Black-identifying author or poet. Please contact Khalil Brim, DEIB post-graduate fellow, at brim@lvc.edu if you would like to lend your voice to this show-stopping event or if you have any questions.
