New textbooks can be returned for a refund as long as they are within 30 days of the order date or two weeks after the start of class. Most ebooks can be returned within 14 days. Marketplace items are not returnable. Items ineligible for return are marked ‘not returnable’ at checkout. If you miss the deadline to return or if you ordered a book that is not returnable, you can always post it for sale on the marketplace.

The marketplace is where students and book vendors across the nation buy and sell books at discounted prices. You can save an average of 60% off when you order a marketplace book. Please note, marketplace items do not qualify for free shipping.  At the end of the semester, when you are finished with your books, this is where you can sell books that you purchased that you do not wish to keep.

Check out with a credit, debit, or prepaid card. You may also use PayPal, Google Pay, or Apple Pay. You may also charge the books directly to your student account, when approved by the school.  Graduate students must contact cashier@lvc.edu to complete paperwork to charge books to their student account.

*You may use alternate forms of payment for rentals, but you are required to add a credit card to ensure its return. It will only be charged if you do not return the rental on time.

Various shipping methods and time frames are offered. Orders over $79 qualify for free economy shipping (exclusions may apply). Use the Order ID in your confirmation email to check delivery status. Not all marketplace vendors offer tracking, but you can contact the seller through the website for a status update.

You will receive multiple emails regarding your book order.  If you have chosen the “ship to campus” option, wait for the “ready for pick up” email.  This means that your book has been checked in and is available for pick up in the LVC Gear Shop.

Any issues with orders from the LVC Online Bookstore should be handled through lvc.vitalsource.com. The LVC Gear Shop does not have access to this information and will not be able to assist.  The LVC Gear Shop is just a pick up location.

Rental textbooks are not returnable for a refund.  Once your book is packed up with the USPS shipping label, it may be dropped off at the LVC Mail Center for shipping.

Books that are no longer needed or wanted may be sold on the online marketplace through lvc.textbookx.com. You must list the book for sale, and once the book is sold, you are responsible for packaging the book and mailing it to the purchaser.
