Complaints and Third Party Comments

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE or the Commission) provides opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and members of the public to submit information regarding the qualifications for accreditation of its member institutions: Complaints and Third Party Comments. The Commission also provides an opportunity for any individual or entity to submit information regarding the Commission’s compliance with its own policies and procedures as well as requirements for federal recognition or the recognition criteria of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Complaints

Complaints are a means of providing information and evidence regarding an institution’s compliance with the Commission’s standards for accreditation, requirements of affiliation, and policies and procedures outside of a scheduled accreditation review.

For further information, consult the Commission’s policy on Complaints Involving Member and Candidate Institutions in the Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines section.

Third Party Comments

Third party comments are a means of providing information and evidence regarding an institution’s compliance with the Commission’s standards for accreditation, requirements of affiliation, and policies and procedures as part of a scheduled accreditation review. The Commission accepts third party comments about the quality of a member institution when an institution is approaching a scheduled accreditation review.

Third party comments are solicited by the Commission and the institution. Consult the Evaluation Schedule to see a list of institutions approaching scheduled accreditation reviews.

For further information, consult the Commission’s policy on Third Party Comment in the Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines section.
