While Jill’s educational background doesn’t appear to align with her career at LVC, her professional experience certainly does. As an undergrad in New Hampshire, Jill could not participate in her school’s study abroad program, so she chose to pursue her master’s degree at a Canadian university. She then moved to Germany with her husband and worked overseas for three years in her field of study, exercise science. When she returned to the United States and settled in Annville, Jill could not find a job in her field but heard that Lebanon Valley College was looking for a director of global education. The position required a master’s degree in any field and overseas living experience. She has been LVC’s Director of Global Education ever since.

Working in global education is a natural fit for Jill as she has always been passionate about travel and feels that living abroad is a challenge leading to an opportunity for personal growth. She advises the U.S.-based students in the study abroad program and international students at LVC. LVC can have up to 20 international students on campus each semester who may need help with various issues, ranging from cultural adjustment to immigration requirements. Jill is energized by her work with our students and says those interactions are the most fulfilling part of her job. She feels fortunate that her path led her to LVC and “wouldn’t have it any other way.” LVC’s smaller size enables her to build strong relationships and personal connections with the students. She also feels that her campus colleagues are personally and professionally reliable.

Jill is an athlete and sports fan in her free time. She especially enjoys watching her kids participate in their favorite sports. Her hobby is exercise; She loves hiking, jogging, or spending time with her two dogs, Maggie and Scout.
