International students Fatima and Shingirai talk about attending boarding school, the adjustment of leaving Zimbabwe to pursue college in America, and how that contributes to their identity and shapes their lives.
Lebanon Valley College is ranked #2 on the “Great Schools, Great Prices,” list in its category “Regional Universities-North,” by U.S. News & World Report. We are located 20 minutes from Hershey, Pennsylvania, home to the famous Hershey Chocolate Factory and Theme Park, as well as strategically located between the three major cities of New York City (3 hours), Washington, D.C. (2.5 hours), and Philadelphia (1.5 hours). Lebanon Valley College is also just a 30-minute drive from Pennsylvania’s state Capitol, Harrisburg, where an international airport and train station make transportation easy and accessible.
International students will receive broad and challenging curricular offerings in a culture that is warm, respectful, and supportive. Our professors focus on teaching and involving their students in collaborative research and other immersive learning opportunities. We do not use teaching assistants or graduate assistants and offer an 11:1 student-to-faculty ratio allowing for academic and personal connections between faculty and students.
The Center for Global Education is here to strengthen, enrich, and advocate for international education and cultural exchange by anticipating and responding to the specific needs and concerns of the international community.
