About the Orientation Leader (OL) Program<\/div>\n
\n

Help new Dutchmen feel welcome! As an Orientation Leader (OL), you\u2019ll be the friendly face guiding first-year and transfer students through move-in, orientation weekend, and their first few weeks on campus.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n\n

Compensation & Benefits<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • A stipend of $250 for the fall semester.<\/li>\n
  • Two OL shirts to be worn during NSO.<\/li>\n
  • All meals are covered during training and portions of NSO.<\/li>\n
  • Option to earn Immersive Credit.<\/li>\n
  • Development of leadership skills, group facilitation, problem solving, and professional etiquette.<\/li>\n

    \n Position Responsibilities<\/span>\n <\/h2>\n
    \n
    \n
      \n
    • Support all new students through New Student Orientation (NSO). This includes coming to all sessions and being an active participant.<\/li>\n
    • Build relationships and connections with your mentees through appropriate communication before and during the semester.<\/li>\n
    • Facilitate a welcoming environment where all students can feel included and like they belong at LVC.<\/li>\n
    • Support all rules, regulations, and policies of the College.<\/li>\n
    • Act as a resource to LVC and direct new students\/mentees to campus resources as appropriate.<\/li>\n
    • Maintain privacy with your mentees but report any required information to the appropriate campus personnel.<\/li>\n
    • Connect with your mentees throughout the semester both in-person and virtually.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

      Attendance & Participation<\/h5>\n
        \n
      • Attend all OL trainings<\/li>\n
      • Attend New Student Orientation<\/li>\n
      • Attend scheduled meetings as requested.<\/li>\n
      • Connect with mentees at least two times in the fall semester (one individually and one inviting a mentee to an on-campus event).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        Qualifications<\/h5>\n
          \n
        • Rising sophomore, junior, or senior<\/li>\n
