Although all Orientation activities are open to every new student, the following keys will note group-specific events:

Residence Halls Open for New Students
Residence hall keys, student ID cards, and peer mentor information will be distributed to students outside of their residence hall. Students will also receive a coupon for their Orientation T-shirt which will be available in the Mund College Center.

All students are invited to visit the tables located inside the main concourse of the Mund College Center for vehicle registration, local banking information, IT support, on-campus employment information, Comcast cable information and to pick up their Orientation t-shirt.

Students who have not had a photo taken for their ID card should go to the Mund College Center. Students must have an ID card to gain access to their assigned residence hall, the Vernon and Doris Bishop Library, Arnold Sports Center, and dining facilities.

Water Ceremony
Peace Garden
All are invited to participate in a traditional water ceremony. Please bring a small amount of water representative of home, pour it in one of four urns that have been placed in the Peace Garden, and sign the registry. Once collected, all water will be poured into the pond as a symbol of our extended LVC community.

Luncheon for All Students and Families

All new students and families are invited to join members of the College community at an outdoor barbecue luncheon on the Social Quad. Music provided by the Jay Umble Trio.

Annual Children of Alumni Photos (Legacies)

All children of parents or grandparents who attended LVC are invited to participate in this annual tradition. We will take a group photo of all new legacies and photos with any of their family members who attended LVC.

All new students will receive information related to the Opening Convocation. This program is required of all new students. Students are encouraged to leave their backpacks or other possession in their rooms or with family members for the ceremony.

The tradition of the Opening Convocation marks the formal opening of the academic year. Students are led through a receiving line of Lebanon Valley College’s faculty, administration, and trustees in full academic regalia. This program is required of all new students. Parents and family members are invited to attend the ceremony.

Parents and families bid farewell to their students. This time may also be used to visit the College Store. Don’t forget that Homecoming and Family Weekend is Oct. 7–8!
