Advice

Welcome to Lebanon Valley College. We look forward to you joining us in a few weeks. Here's a little advice to help you as you begin your college career:

Come to college with an open mind and be yourself!

Use all the resources around you, and don't be afraid to ask questions because everyone is in this together. It's a learning experience!

Most importantly:

  • Get involved and experience college-involvement; it's an excellent way to meet new people.
  • Get to know your professors, especially your advisor - they are here to help you. Pay them a friendly visit once in a while to discuss nonacademic matters.
  • Pace yourself - don't take on too much in the beginning. Set realistic goals for yourself and save time for recreation. Join a club or organization, explore the area and get out and meet people.
  • Remember your classes-this might sound like an unnecessary reminder, but getting used to a routine can be difficult!
Above all, remember this: "Don't panic if you feel lost in the beginning." It's completely normal for something so strange and new to boggle your mind for a bit, but in the end you're going to have the time of your life!
