\n About the Frederic K. Miller Chapel<\/span>\n <\/div>\n <\/h1>\n

Miller Chapel, dedicated on October 30, 1966, is named in honor of Frederic K. Miller, 12th president of the College. Located at the center of the campus, at the intersection of the social and academic quads, it symbolically calls attention to the religious heritage of the College. Built in the shape of a cross, the spire rises nearly 110 feet above ground level.<\/p>\n

The first (upper) level contains the sanctuary, narthex, meditation chapel, and office of the chaplain. The sanctuary provides seating for 880 people (<\/span>492 on the main floor and 388 on the upper level)<\/span>. The gallery also houses the Schantz pipe organ, installed in 1968. The meditation chapel, in the northwest corner, is a quiet place for private prayer and small group worship. A handicap bathroom is in the southwest corner.<\/p>\n

The ground (lower) level contains five classrooms, a large lecture room with seating for over 150, two offices, a comfortably furnished lounge, the Hurst Diversity Library, and restrooms.<\/p>\n

  • Summer Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Closed on weekends.<\/li>\n

    Special Event Parking<\/div>\n

    For most special events, signage will be posted directing those unable to find street parking to \u201cAdditional LVC Parking.\u201d This signage will direct guests to the \u201cRed Lot\u201d (indicated by the yellow letter A on the campus map).<\/p>\n

    An additional sign placed at the bottom of the Pedestrian Bridge (#63 on the campus map) will direct guests to cross over to the Chapel (#4 on the campus map).<\/p>\n

    Guests unable to traverse steps may be dropped off on the first block of East Sheridan Avenue at the inset curb on the north side of Miller Chapel.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n

    Miller Chapel is wheelchair accessible via elevator. Drivers should be instructed to drop off and pick up passengers at the temporary parking cut-out directly north of Miller Chapel on the first block of East Sheridan Avenue.<\/p>\n
