What is Starfish?

Starfish is an online student engagement tool that allows faculty, students, and staff to connect and collaboratively cultivate student success.

If you are a current LVC student, faculty, or staff member, you can access Starfish here. Please sign in with your LVC credentials. Check out the Starfish dashboard page for more faculty, staff, and student resources.

Starfish is made just for you. This tool is designed to empower you to be successful. We know that success doesn’t always come easily and involves an investment of time, money, energy, and effort. At LVC, there is a team of people pulling for you every step of the way, and Starfish makes it easier than ever to connect with the people in your network, seek out support, and connect with helpful resources. Through Starfish, you can submit any concerns you have (known as the “Raise Your Hand” function), access beneficial resources, connect with your Success Network, receive updates on your academic progress, and more.

Faculty & Staff

We know you care about your students’ success, and Starfish allows you to raise awareness of potential concerns and encourage your students to keep up forward progress. Raising a support flag opens the door to discussing relevant services on campus that help promote student success. Faculty and staff are encouraged to use Starfish to alert students of areas of strength (Kudos tool) as well as areas of improvement or concern (Flags). Flags advise students to take an appropriate course of action, and Kudos celebrate students’ successes, big or small.
