Alexa Kanakry ’19, Headed to Spain

Music education major Alexa Kanakry will teach English in Galicia, Spain, and immerse herself in their music and culture thanks to a Fulbright award.

Graduate Success 

Graduates of the five most recent classes work as music teachers, band directors, and choral directors at schools throughout Pennsylvania and in Alaska, Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas and Stockholm Sweden. Others have pursued graduate study at the University of Florida (French horn and trumpet performance), University of North Carolina at Greensboro (music performance), Kent State University (music education), Binghamton University (instrumental conducting), and Bowling Green State University (music composition), among others. 

Allison Giovanetti is a music education graduate from Lebanon Valley who will teach in China.

Music Education Major to Teach at International School in China

Music education major Allison Giovanetti ’19 loves to teach and will fulfill her goal of teaching abroad by spending two years teaching music to students at the Canadian International School of Hefei China.
