From service to professional organizations, Greek Life at Lebanon Valley College provides an opportunity for students to connect through a variety of events and experiences.

 

Greek Council

Greek Council was established to foster loyalty to the ideals of the College and campus community, to promote the intellectual and social life of Greek members and the individual organizations, and to promote interest in Greek life. The Council is made up of two representatives from the social and service fraternities and sororities who act as a liaison between Greek organizations, the student body, administration, and faculty. Alpha Phi Omega

ΑΦΩ—“APO”

Alpha Phi Omega, Nu Delta chapter, is a national co-ed service fraternity that has promoted brotherhood through the principles of leadership, friendship, and service since the fraternity’s founding in 1925 and here at LVC since this chapter’s establishment in 1960. Involved in numerous service and social opportunities, the fraternity is open to all male and female students interested in serving the campus, community, nation, and fraternity.

 

Alpha Sigma Tau

ΑΣΤ—“AST”

Alpha Sigma Tau is the first national sorority (founded in 1899) to receive recognition by the College in 1992. The sisters of AST strive to contribute their share to mankind by participating in and hosting many service projects that occur annually, semesterly, and even weekly. AST strives to promote the cultural, ethical, and social development of its members and challenges them to push themselves to grow both academically and personally with the help and support of the sisters that surround them. Gamma Sigma Sigma

ΓΣΣ—“GAMMA SIG”

Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority (founded in 1952) was the first national sorority to receive recognition by Lebanon Valley College in 1969 and is the longest-standing sorority on campus. The sorority’s purpose is to assemble college and university students in the spirit of service to humanity and to develop friendships among students of all races and creeds. The members of Gamma Sig strive to promote service, friendship, and equality within the chapter, campus, and community by participating in many service projects every semester, promoting lifelong relationships with others, and keeping open hearts and minds with everyone. Gamma Sig is a diverse group of girls that happily accepts members of any background, and loves to expand their membership. Kappa Lambda Nu

ΚΛΝ – “Clio”

Kappa Lambda Nu, aka Clio, is a local social sorority originally founded in 1871, making it the oldest social sorority on LVC’s campus, until being refounded in 2020 after a ten-year hiatus. Clio aims to create lifelong friendships, promote loyalty, honesty, open-mindedness, and leadership among its members. Through both social and service activities focusing on environmental awareness, the sisters of Clio hope to improve the nature and character of not only our school and each other but our peers as well.

 

Phi Lambda Sigma

ΦΑΣ—“PHILO”

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia

ΦΜΑ SINFONIA—“SINFONIA”

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is a professional acting social fraternity for men interested in music. A national fraternity, this organization has among its members some of the leading conductors, composers, and musical performers in the country. Consideration for membership is open to any male student in good academic standing with an appreciation for music.

The Iota Kappa chapter, founded at the College in 1960, has received the Charles E. Lutton Award for the best chapter in the state. Sinfonia sponsors the annual Reynaldo Rovers All-American concert, a high school jazz festival, and the spring musical in cooperation with the Wig and Buckle Theater Company.

 

Sigma Alpha Iota

ΣΑΙ—“SAI”

Sigma Alpha Iota, a nationally recognized professional women’s music fraternity, strives to further the cause of music through the development of talent. The Delta Alpha chapter, established at the College in 1961, admits women in any major with a 2.5 or higher GPA and a strong interest in music. SAI sponsors campus concerts and co-sponsors the spring musical with Sinfonia and Alpha Phi Omega.

 

Tau Kappa Epsilon

ΤΚΕ—“TKE”

Tau Kappa Epsilon or “TKE” is a social fraternity focusing on brotherhood, philanthropy, and diversity. TKE was founded in 1899 and has 227 active chapters. The Rho Chi chapter of TKE was founded at LVC in 1986. TKE raises more money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital annually than any other Greek life organization on campus. The chapter’s cumulative GPA is 3.46. TKE looks for new members not based on wealth, rank, or honor, but on the basis of each man’s personal worth and character.
