Career Connections provides the opportunity for current students to connect with LVC alumni for the purpose of exploration, networking, and mentoring through the job and/or internship search process. The program is a collaborative effort between the Center for Career Development and the office of Alumni and Parent Engagement.
Here are a few activities to help you build a mentoring relationship:
- Informational interviews to develop a clear perspective about a career field
- Company site visits and days of shadowing
- Resume critiques
- Mock interviews and advice about the best methods of entering a career field
- Gaining additional contacts (referrals)
Current students can access Career Connections mentors through their LVC Handshake account. The TIP Sheet: Connecting with Alumni Mentors and the Building a Stronger Network webshop will help you make an impressive first connection.
Consider becoming a mentor with Career Connections! Provide valuable career advice and job search assistance to current LVC students and alumni. Details can be found HERE.
