Off-Campus Community Service Positions
Only students with Federal Work-Study (FWS) awards may work in community service positions and be paid by LVC. If you are sure you have FWS in your package, first apply for the job, and if you are hired, then obtain the contracts: Contracts, available in the Financial Aid Office, must be signed and returned prior to the start of employment. Children’s Preschool Storytime Assistant –

Responsibilities include greeting families, taking attendance, assisting children during craft activities, preparing craft materials for future use, maintaining order in the room, shelving books, and interacting with children at play. Excellent experience for an education major. Need to have energy and enthusiasm as well as an ability to work well with children, parents, and staff.

LutherCare for Kids Annville
Responsibilities: Teacher assistants are needed for various shifts throughout the day at the childcare center. LutherCare for Kids Annville is open Monday through Friday and located within walking distance of the college, at 40 South King Street, Annville. Great experience for an education major.
Hours: 6:30 a.m. – 9:15 a.m., 2 – 3 - 4 or 5 days a week; 3 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., 2-3-4 or 5 days a week

Office of Audiovisual Technology / Office of Information Technology
(Student technicians will work for both offices)
Seeking student technician trainees to begin training Fall, 2019.
Responsibilities: students will be cross-trained in IT and AV in order to support installed and portable audiovisual and computer equipment. This includes setting up, configuring, operating, troubleshooting and tearing down audio systems, projection systems, audio, and video recording systems, computer hardware and software support, printer support, troubleshooting of existing college computers and new computer setup and testing. Successful student candidates will enter a training program during the current semester, and this training program will continue through the following semester. Because of the length of the training program, training positions are available to students who plan to be enrolled for at least five additional semesters.
Wage: Level 1 while training; raised to Level 2 upon promotion to fully trained technician.

Student Public Safety Events/Parking Staff

Responsibilities: Students would provide assistance with parking vehicles during events, providing wayfinding service, and/or the security during events. This job requires the ability to stand/walk for lengthy periods of time during all types of weather (hot, cold, rain, snow). Must have exemplary customer service skills

Dutchman Dialer (Phonathon Caller)- Development Office
Responsibilities: Student Phonathon callers contact LVC alumni, parents and friends to build relationships, verify the information and request gifts to LVC’s annual fund, The Valley Fund. Callers must be effective communicators, be comfortable asking for money, have an appreciation for and understand the importance of philanthropy, be personable, enthusiastic, organized, strong representatives of LVC as well as work well with others. This job is perfect for those that wish to make some extra money outside of the typical class day.
Hours: Fall Semester- 6:00-9:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday, Sept 10 – Oct 4 (& as needed throughout the year with special emphasis around our Annual Day of Giving in November and drawing closer to the end of the calendar year)
Spring Semester- 6-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, Jan. 28 – Feb. 28 (& as needed throughout the semester)
* You will be scheduled 1-2 shifts/week with the option to add the 3rd night if your schedule allows for it
Wage: $7.75/hr (Level 2); pay increases each calling year

Responsibilities: Students would assist with all aspects of grounds maintenance; including mowing, trimming, mulching, athletic field preparation, and snow removal.

Lifeguard for LVC Arnold Sports Center
Responsibilities: Lifeguards help prevent injuries by minimizing and/or eliminating hazardous situations, enforcing all facility rules and regulations, recognizing and responding quickly and effectively to emergencies, administer first aid and/or CPR in an emergency, and informing other employees when assistance is needed. Lifeguard Training and First Aid and CPR for professional rescuer required.
Hours: Lifeguards are needed for a variety of 1– 2-hour shifts during regular pool hours as well as for other pool-related events.
