Summer Pathways Program | July 12 – August 13

Get an early start on college life!

Selected students are invited to participate in Lebanon Valley College’s Virtual Summer Pathways Program—an opportunity to get a head start on their college journey, at absolutely no cost to them.

As a participant in Pathways, students will connect with resources and mentors, develop the skills necessary for a strong academic career, and confirm that they are in a major that is the best fit for their passions, interests, and strengths.

Students who successfully complete the summer program will move in two days earlier than the rest of the first-year class and spend time on and off-campus preparing for classes and enjoying extracurricular activities with their Pathways classmates.

Participants will also be granted the opportunity to take one additional LVC course during the January Term or during the summer of 2022 free of charge! Details are below.

Pathways FAQ

What will students do during Pathways?

Students will get to know key people who will help them in their LVC journey as well as other Pathways students.  Through video chats, virtual activities, and online investigations, they will learn more about college life, get a jump start on becoming a successful college student, and learn more about majors at LVC so they can be sure they have selected a major that is a good match for their passions and talents.

How will the Summer Pathways program benefit participants?

  • Learn about college life before the rest of their new LVC classmates.
  • Make friends before the fall semester begins.
  • Learn how to manage the requirements and expectations that lead to a successful college experience.
  • Establish relationships with LVC faculty and staff who can serve as mentors throughout their college years and beyond.
  • Earn the opportunity to take an LVC course during the January Term or during the summer of 2022 free of charge.

How do students sign up?

Pathways is by invitation only to select students.

Invited students need to submit the Pathways application and their enrollment deposit.

Pathways helped ease my nerves by making early connections with my assigned coach. They were there for me during my time in the Pathways Program and during the school year. Ultimately, the program helped me prepare for college by giving tips and places to go for help with studying, planning, and academic resources.

The biggest way Pathways helped me was by providing multiple sections on the basics of LVC—meaning how to use Canvas, how to set up the computer properly, etc. I was nervous about the adjustment to using Canvas, but Pathways eased my learning process.
