Support for Students
Every student should be given
the opportunity to benefit from an LVC education. Endowed scholarships are
provided to those students most deserving of that education. These students show academic success,
leadership skills, and often demonstrate financial need.
Endowed scholarships are a permanent source of funds for a specific area of
study. They can be designed to reflect the interest of a donor or support a
student with certain aspirations. Endowed scholarships are usually named
for the donor or to commemorate an individual close to the donor, such as a parent
or faculty member.
Endowed Book Funds
Another important way to
support a student in lieu of a fully endowed scholarship is to establish a book
fund, which lasts in perpetuity to provide a deserving student with textbooks
for an academic year.
Endowed Academic Awards
Endowed awards are given directly to an
outstanding student at the close of an academic year to recognize his/her
achievement in a particular area of study.
Endowed awards have been established to honor a faculty member,
commemorate a person close to the donor, or support a particular area of study.
