The LVC Writing Center located on the lower level of Bishop Library offers peer tutoring in all aspects of writing. Whether you need help with a paper in English or in psychology, the Writing Center tutors can help you focus on the steps to get you where you need to be.
These services are free of charge to all LVC students and can be arranged by calling x6790 or by e-mailing us at wcenter@lvc.edu for an appointment. You may also just come to our scheduled desk hours without an appointment and a tutor will work with you.
Tutor staff desk hours: Sunday-Thursday, 6-9 p.m., Monday and Wednesday, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.
The writing tutors are generally not a proofreading service, though we adapt to the special needs of our clients as necessary. Our goal is to "make better writers, not just better papers." Our tutors are all undergraduate students who have undergone extensive training in both the writing process and the tutoring process. They are good listeners who ask intelligent questions. They are a seasoned audience for your work to help you "see and hear" what you are saying or trying to say.
