Welcome to the LVC Science Timeline
The sciences at LVC have been a shining example
of the liberal arts and of the powers of close student-faculty relationships since the
College's first decades in the 1800s. LVC graduates have gone on to work with American
astronauts and presidents as well as to teach physics, chemistry, biology and psychology
to America's children through classroom instruction. And, over 50 years of student-faculty
research has made the last half-century noteworthy in particular.
This Science Timeline was developed to honor this rich history. Because of the many
successes of LVC's science graduates, we realize that making additions to the
timeline will be an ongoing process. We welcome any comments, additions and/or
corrections. New information will regularly be added. Each page of the web timeline
will have a direct link to my e-mail address. Enjoy!

hanrahan@lvc.eduNote: The information for this site was gathered from research I completed for The Valley article and extensive additional research done by Kristy Adams, LVC webmaster. Current and emeriti faculty made significant contributions and, Alice Diehl, archivist and technical services librarian emeritus, helped us explore the LVC archives for additional information, photographs and press releases. Lebanon Valley College: A Centennial History, by Dr. Paul A. W. Wallace, Lebanon Valley College, publisher, Annville, Pa., 1966, served as a primary resource for all research prior to publication as did past editions of the the Quittapahilla and The Valley. We also thank the Biesecker Family for their photo contribution. We attempted to cite all works where appropriate and any omissions were unintentional.
