Chris Bruni

profound lore records

Bruni formed profound lore records with friends as a hobby-label of sorts, releasing limited edition vinyl from notable artists and later dabbling in the odd limited edition cd release. it wasn’t until bruni decided to take full control of the label that the true vision of profound lore began to take form, signaled by the release of asunder’s works will come undone. since then other artists that have helped shape the identity of the label and

helped bring awareness to it include cobalt, yob, portal, krallice, ludicra, alcest, altar of plagues and the Gates of slumber. Based out of Canada (and now situated in the vast countryside about an hour-and-a-half West of the godforsaken Greater Toronto Area), Profound Lore Records was created to display an artist’s musical vision in the most unique and distinct of manners. http://www.profoundlorerecords.com/

Stephanie Quayle

http://www.stephaniequayle.com

Nashville based singer/songwriter, Stephanie Quayle is a force to be reckoned with, taking her life experience and blending them into melodic adventures with a bit of a smirk. Watching Stephanie perform is a modern throwback when it comes to entertainers. Her sass and sincerity are as honest as Stephanie’s determination and drive, and one can’t help but fall in love with her can do attitude.

The road to Stephanie’s latest projects is paved with a surprising amount of grit worn into this bold woman’s boots. From the sentimental song “Sophia” to the passionate declaration about living the dream in “Alley of Desires”, Stephanie sounds as confident as she does earnest, paying respect to country elders while pushing the envelope of modern country music. At age 16, Stephanie embarked on a musical exploration that found her fronting her first band in Switzerland, a long way from the Rocky Mountains she called home. Performing in Europe furthered this Entertainer’s resolve: to chase down her musical dream and let nothing stand in her way. “This was the moment I knew this would be my life,” she says. The ride towards her dream wasn’t always pretty but it was real. After returning to the states, making her way through the gravel roads and dive bars with her beat up guitars, she found herself in Los Angeles. In 2009, after a personal tragedy that shook Stephanie’s world to the core, she realized that her music career had to mean more. She wanted to empower others through her story of inner strength, endurance and survival.

She turned the tragedy into a symbolic moment in life and an ultimate triumph that led to the recording of “Ain’t No Housewife”, an invitation to perform at Maria Shriver’s Women’s Conference in front of thousands of guests, and the start of Stephanie’s humanitarian efforts with non‐profit organizations. Her voice and her story started to make an impact in a positive direction and she was on her way.

Stephanie wants to be a healing force for the world and writes songs filled with her own experience that inspire as well as bring understanding and awareness to unimaginable circumstances. From her work with veterans and their families to the mentoring of young girls and women in songwriting and esteem building workshops, Stephanie is relentless and determined to be a voice of empathy, joy and laughter.

After moving back in August 2012, she started her own music-centric media outlet so that she could use what she learned through her experiences in Portland to help promote the Philly music scene, a scene she grew up in and has always felt a strong connection to.

Gina Tutko

http://www.pamusicscene.com/

PA Music Scene magazine made its debut online in July 2009. It was founded in Pottsville, PA (Schuylkill County) by music enthusiast, Gina Tutko, who was on a mission to bring positive support to the local music scene. Her love of music was reignited by a local Harrisburg-based band, HotWingJones (HWJ), in which her brother-in-law is a member. Witnessing their passion and dedication, they inspired her to develop the online magazine. Despite the fact that they claimed to be a ‘hobby band’, they consistently demonstrated their love of creating and playing music with a level of perfection bringing a smile to those supporting their efforts. That instilled the idea within Gina that such talent should be shared with others who love music. The band’s founder, Marc T. Levin, became a mentor to the PA Music Scene endeavor helping to cultivate it along with Terry Selders of Susquehanna Entertainment.

PA Music Scene magazine is unique in that it not only focuses on locally grown bands and venues but also sheds light on those who work behind the scenes. One of the most striking aspects of the site is its attention to detail in cataloging local recording studios and those who help bring out the best in the music scene. Gina describes the site as one that gives the ‘full picture’ of the Pennsylvania music scene. The site is designed to entertain those who want to read about local music but also to help support local music in all its manifestations. PA Music Scene creates a community in which potential fans have the opportunity to find their new favorite local artists and those artists have an opportunity to find local venues, local recording studios or producers that fit them best.

Mike Van Jura

http://greenbeltevents.com/

Mike Van Jura is a talent buyer and concert promoter with a focus on small clubs and theaters. Greenbelt Events is the company his years of experience has spawned and they do around 175 shows annually in a half dozen venues in Central Pennsylvania ranging in size from 150-1500 people.

Initially, Mike got his foot in the door of the music business as an on-air personality on an active-rock radio station in Harrisburg; eventually winding up on a classic rock station doing drive-time in the early 2000’s.

Booking small dive bars and juke-joints, he cut his teeth doing five and six band bills; often with very little production and zero marketing budget. Nearly ten years (and thousands of shows) later, Mike is one of the few full time independent concert promoters in the Central Pennsylvania region.

Maintaining an active profile on his blog, JerseyMike.org, engaging around 2,000 followers on his @jerseymike Twitter account and various other media, Mike is something of a renaissance man in the often-volatile music business. Believing that helping others first and himself second will only better the overall climate, he is an example of how to succeed in the business.

With clients such as Live Nation, The City of Harrisburg, The Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company, Whitaker Center for Science and The Arts and dozens of private, corporate accounts, Greenbelt Events has established itself as the go-to event organization and concert promotion companies in the region.

She has been an amateur singer-songwriter for over 20 years, and comes to Listen Live Music with a professional background in print management and marketing.
