Residence Halls Open for New Students
Residence hall keys, student ID cards, and peer mentor information will be distributed to students in the main lobby of their assigned residence hall..

Information Tables
All students are invited to visit the tables located inside the main concourse of the Mund College Center to pick up their Orientation t-shirt and for vehicle registration, local banking information, IT support, and Comcast cable information.

ID Photos
Students who have not had a photo taken for their ID card should go to the Mund College Center. Students must have an ID card to gain access to their assigned residence hall, the Vernon and Doris Bishop Library, Arnold Sports Center, and dining facilities.

Annual Children of Alumni Photos (Legacies)
All children of parents or grandparents who attended LVC are invited to participate in this annual tradition. We will take a group photo of all new legacies and photos with any of their family members who attended LVC.

Commuting Students Check-In (C)

All new commuting students must report to the Mund College Center for vehicle registration, peer mentor information, and an ID card. Commuting students are invited to be our guests at meals through Monday’s lunch.

Water Ceremony
All are invited to participate in a traditional water ceremony. Please bring a small amount of water representative of home, pour it in one of four urns that have been placed in the Peace Garden, and sign the registry. Once collected, all water will be poured into the pond as a symbol of the support of the extended community.

Luncheon for All Students and Families
All new students and families are invited to join members of the faculty and staff at an outdoor barbecue luncheon on the Social Quad. You may also elect to visit the College Store to purchase textbooks or other supplies at this time.

Pre-Convocation Instructions 
All new students meet with Robert Mikus ’90, associate dean of student affairs, and Dr. Michael Green, vice president of academic affairs and dean of the faculty, for information related to the Opening Convocation. This program is required of all new students.

Opening Convocation 
The tradition of the Opening Convocation marks the formal opening of the academic year. Student Government officers will lead incoming students through a receiving line of Lebanon Valley College’s faculty, administration, and trustees in full academic regalia. This program is required of all new students.

Goodbyes
Parents and families bid farewell to their students. This time may also be used to visit the College Store. Don’t forget that Oktoberfest/Homecoming and Family Weekend is Oct. 11–12!

All students will meet with their department faculty for an orientation related to their major field of study. All students are required to attend.

Hypnotist Brad Clark 
Brad has traveled the country entertaining thousands of people with his UNLEASHED Hypnosis comedy show. You will have the opportunity to experience the state of hypnosis on stage or from your seat in the audience. Once the participants are hypnotized, Brad guides them to faraway places and lets them experience feelings, smells, and tastes that bring smiles to their faces and yours. The laughter doesn’t stop once the entertainers are off stage. You will be amazed at the post-hypnotic suggestions that last long after the show is over.

All new students will meet with their peer mentor groups to complete a variety of service projects designed by student leaders of LVC service organizations. Fifteen non-profit organizations will benefit in the process. Your help is appreciated!

Picnic with the President
Join Dr. Lewis E. Thayne, LVC president, as he hosts a picnic for all new students at his home. Enjoy food, activities, and a chance to be personally welcomed by the president at this inaugural event. Students will gather in the Arnold Sports Center at 4:45 p.m. and will walk as a group to the president's home.

Dr. Cullen has been referred to as the best there is at simplifying the complex issues of diversity in an entertaining and educational manner. Since 1987, she has been capturing the hearts and minds of people with her dynamic seminars and speaking engagements.
