John Patterson McCoy died on Sunday, Feb. 19, at age 60.  John was brother to Rebecca McCoy, associate professor of history, and brother-in-law to Dan Simpkins, lecturer in sociology.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org).

Feb. 12, 2017 | Nancy Larsen Green

Nancy Larsen Green, mother to Michael Green, vice president of academic affairs and dean of the faculty, passed away this past Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Lebanon Valley Home in Annville.  A full obituary is available here.
 
Nancy’s passion was for the care of animals; she was a long-time supporter of various animal welfare groups. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Harrisburg, 7790 Grayson Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111.

Feb. 3, 2017 | Roger Knisley

Roger Knisley, father-in-law of retired Associate Professor of French Jean-Marc Braem, died this past Friday morning. Roger was husband to the late Nevelyn J. Knisley, an instructor within LVC’s Department of Music for whom LVC’s adjunct teaching award is named. A full obituary is available here
 
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. this Saturday, Feb. 11, at Annville United Methodist Church (1 N. College Avenue, Annville 17003). Visitation will take place at Annville UMC one hour prior to the service.  The family will also receive members of the local community at a potluck luncheon to follow the service.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the same Annville United Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Miller Chapel on the Lebanon Valley College campus on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 1 p.m. Visitation will take place following the service.

Salvatore Cullari, professor emeritus of the psychology department, has written to let the LVC Community know that his mother, Carmela Cullari, passed away this week at age 87. A full obituary is available here.

A viewing will be held Monday, October 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 88 Lucy Ave., Hershey (17033). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 18, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey (17033).

Sarah Bartz, associate director of career development, welcomed son Hudson Matthew Bartz on October 6 at 9:31 p.m. He weighs 6 pounds, 3 ounces and is 20 inches long. Hudson, Sarah, and Ryan (Sarah’s husband) are all doing well.

We've received the sad news that Walter Labonte, former director of the Writing Center and Instructor in the Department of English, has passed away this afternoon at his home, surrounded by his family and friends.

The memorial service has been scheduled for Sunday, May 22 at 12 noon in Zimmerman Recital Hall (within the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery).

Jan. 5, 2016 | Moira Ann Beazley Meindl

Please hold the family of Joerg Meindl (meindl@lvc.edu), Associate Professor of German, in your thoughts and prayers. Their infant daughter, Moira Ann Beazley Meindl, requires surgery on her skull resulting from premature fusion.

The surgery is scheduled for this Thursday, Jan. 7 at Hershey Medical Center (assuming she gets over the common cold that she has currently).

Your care and concern is sincerely appreciated by the family.

Jan. 6, 2016 | Update

Moira’s surgery has been postponed to give her time to recover fully. We will share the new date with the community via the LVC Weekly and this Web site (probably in 2-4 weeks). At present, Moira does well and is generally happy.
