Salvatore Cullari, professor emeritus of the psychology department, has written to let the LVC Community know that his mother, Carmela Cullari, passed away this week at age 87. A full obituary is available here.

A viewing will be held Monday, October 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 88 Lucy Ave., Hershey (17033). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 18, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey (17033).

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Cullari Scholarship, c/o Lebanon Valley College, 101 N. College Ave., Annville (17003). Condolences may be sent to the family at 2167 Sand Hill Road in Hershey (17033).

Sarah Bartz, associate director of career development, welcomed son Hudson Matthew Bartz on October 6 at 9:31 p.m. He weighs 6 pounds, 3 ounces and is 20 inches long. Hudson, Sarah, and Ryan (Sarah’s husband) are all doing well.

We've received the sad news that Walter Labonte, former director of the Writing Center and Instructor in the Department of English, has passed away this afternoon at his home, surrounded by his family and friends.

The memorial service has been scheduled for Sunday, May 22 at 12 noon in Zimmerman Recital Hall (within the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery).

Donations in Walter's memory may be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110. Jan. 5, 2016 | Moira Ann Beazley Meindl

Please hold the family of Joerg Meindl (meindl@lvc.edu), Associate Professor of German, in your thoughts and prayers. Their infant daughter, Moira Ann Beazley Meindl, requires surgery on her skull resulting from premature fusion.

The surgery is scheduled for this Thursday, Jan. 7 at Hershey Medical Center (assuming she gets over the common cold that she has currently).

Your care and concern is sincerely appreciated by the family.

Jan. 6, 2016 | Update

Moira’s surgery has been postponed to give her time to recover fully. We will share the new date with the community via the LVC Weekly and this Web site (probably in 2-4 weeks). At present, Moira does well and is generally happy.

Dr. Jean Olivia Love died this past Saturday, December 26 at age 95.

Dr. Love, who served the College as a Professor of Psychology and the Chair of the Psychology Department, most recently lived at Cornwall Manor.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 6 at 10 a.m. in the Levi Zerr Chapel of Cornwall Manor (located at 1 Boyd Street in Cornwall; http://www.cornwallmanor.org/directions).

We send our condolences to Denise Sanders, Administrative Assistant for Education, whose mother passed away on Saturday, September 5. Pearl D. Levan died at Cornwall Manor at age 86.

Nevelyn Knisley, an Annville resident who served LVC’s Department of Music for several decades as an adjunct faculty member teaching piano, died early Thursday evening, July 23.

A memorial service will be held at Annville United Methodist Church (1 N. College Avenue) on Monday, July 27. Visitation with the family will start at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon at the church.

The loving father of Wendy Carfagno, Senior Assistant to the President, died this past Friday morning, June 26. Carl Himmelberger of Hershey passed away peacefully at age 87. A full obituary is available here.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1 within the Hoover Funeral Home in Hershey (Route 422 & Lucy Avenue; 717-533-7700). Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery.

Deanna Dodson, Professor of Psychology and Director of General Education at LVC, shares the sad news of the passing of her beloved mother, Dana Dodson Haston, on Wednesday, June 10. She will be greatly missed by Deanna and Deanna’s sons, Andy and Robby Casey.

Funeral services will be held in Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ms. Haston’s memory will be made on behalf of the LVC Flower Fund.
