College Wordmark

The Lebanon Valley College word mark and interlocking LVC Logo are the fundamental visual representations of our brand. The Lebanon Valley College wordmark spells out our name in a distinctive manner and forms our primary mark. Always use the wordmark when communicating to external audiences. The interlocking LVC logo may be used with the wordmark or alone.

Workmark Usage:

The wordmark should appear prominently on brochures, flyers, posters, other print media, and electronic communications. The LVC interlocking logo is much more commonly used on non-print materials, such as clothing, signage, and items directed to an audience more familiar with the College, such as alumni.

Only approved artwork can be used to reproduce the wordmark. The wordmark should not be reproduced smaller than 2 inches in width. It is preferred that the wordmark be reproduced in black or the College's official colors—blue or white. To ensure readability on dark backgrounds, the wordmark, in special circumstances, may also be reproduced in one of the colors in our secondary palette. The wordmark should not be used in any unauthorized color or any combination of colors.

Correct Uses:

Under no circumstance should the wordmark be recreated by keyboarding the words. The wordmark has been carefully drawn and hand adjusted. This gives our wordmark the distinctive characteristics that make it unique.

Do not distort the size or shape of the LVC wordmark. Do not use any color combinations other than those specified above. Do not reproduce it using more than one color at a time. Do not use on an interfering background. Do not attempt to re-create or deface either with other graphics. A visual representation of incorrect uses of the LVC wordmark is available for comparison.

Minimum Size:

The wordmark shall not be reproduced smaller than 2 inches in width.

Areas of Isolation:

This term refers to the space around a work mark or logo that must be clear of type or imagery in order to give the wordmark or logo sufficient presence. For the wordmark, that space should equal the height of the lower case letters. For the interlocking LVC logo, it should equal one quarter of the width of the logo. The only exception is when the wordmark is used with a return address on an envelope and the address of the College appears directly below it.

The Lebanon Valley College wordmark spells out our name in a distinctive manner and forms our primary mark. Always use the wordmark when communicating to external audiences. The interlocking LVC logo may be used with the wordmark or alone.

Logo Usage:

There are two accepted versions of the LVC interlocking logo: one with the surrounding oval and one without. In both cases, the interlocking LVC should consist of solid letters and not outlined letters. The interlocking LVC logos should always be reproduced in blue and white (blue letters and oval with a field of white, white letters and oval on a field of blue, or the interlocking LVC letters in blue on white or in white on blue). When color printing is not possible, these logos may be reproduced in black and white.

The interlocking logo with a surrounding oval may be used with the wordmark. In both configurations, the height of the oval should be the same height as the wordmark's upper case "L".

Minimum Size:

The interlocking LVC logo shall not be reproduced smaller than .625 inches in width.

The Dutchman Logo

The Dutchman Oval logo is the Athletic Department's primary logo. It should be used before all other logos. A one-color version may also be used in blue or black.

Incorrect Uses:

Old, unacceptable versions of the Dutchman include: the full-body logo that includes the feet; any Dutchman logo that has only "LV" on his chest instead of "LVC"; any Dutchman logo where only his hair is colored in and he has no skin tone color; any Dutchman logo in alternate colors or that has been modified in any way.
