Book Review Series Begins June 11

Twenty LVC professors will call on their expertise and special interests this summer as they discuss a wide-ranging collection of books in two separate book review series that are free and open to the public. A full schedule and reading list is posted below.

One series will be on Mondays at 1:45 p.m. from June 13 to Aug. 22 at Freeman Auditorium, Cornwall Manor, Cornwall. The second series will be on Tuesdays at 9:45 a.m. from June 14 to Aug. 16 at the Pennsylvania Chautauqua Community Building in Mt. Gretna. Each session begins with coffee and cookies, followed by the book review.

July 10: Stacy Goodman, professor of biology, reviews Deborah Blum’s "The Poisoner’s Handbook: Murder and the Birth of Forensic Medicine in Jazz Age New York"

July 17: Barbara McNulty, director of the Suzanne Arnold Gallery, reviews Jason Felch and Ralph Frammolino’s "Chasing Aphrodite: The Hunt for Looted Antiquities at the World’s Richest Museum"

July 24: Jim Broussard, professor of history, reviews Ron Chernow’s "Washington: A Life"
