Remember, Return, and Reunite at Alumni Weekend ’12
06.06.12 |
From Friday, June 8 to Sunday, June 10, all alumni of Lebanon Valley College are invited back to campus for a weekend filled with entertaining activities. This year classes ending in 2 and 7 are celebrating reunion years, with special recognition of the Class of 1962 who will celebrate their 50-year reunion.

Those interested in attending are required to register and can do so online at www.lvc.edu/AW12 or by filling out the form located in the printed brochure mailed out earlier this spring. Many events are free of charge but a few activities such as the clambake and dinner soiree have a small fee. The class with the greatest number of attendees at Alumni Weekend will also receive a free Alumni Weekend t-shirt.

Attendees traveling a long distance and looking for accommodations are able to stay on campus in Stanson Hall. Stanson Hall is air-conditioned and has one or two twin beds and drawers per room. Those planning to stay on campus should call the Office of Alumni Programs to register a room. For those commuting to Annville, parking is available in any of the lots on campus. Parking passes are not needed during Alumni Weekend.

If attendees would like to purchase LVC gear, the College Store will be open Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Mund College Center. A tremendous sale of 50 percent off most merchandise will be in effect. Some exclusions will apply.

Friday registration will be held in the Mund College Center from 3 until 7 p.m. Alumni will receive a registration packet including an event schedule and Alumni Weekend nametag and lanyard. The shuttle to Hershey’s Chocolate World/Hersheypark and Hershey Tanger Outlets, as well as the annual Alumni Awards Dinner, highlight the night’s activities.

Registration on Saturday begins at 8 a.m. and lasts until 6 p.m. The day’s activities begin with a breakfast in the newly renovated Mund Dining Hall. Also on Saturday, guests can celebrate Old Annville Day, an event featuring local vendors and entertainers. From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. alumni can step back into the classroom with a series of presentations. Additional events include a BBQ and concert on the lawn, sand volleyball, bingo, the Alumni Chorale Showcase Concert as well as the Alumni Clambake and Dance Party.

Alumni Weekend is family friendly with opportunities for children to have fun as well. Children are welcome to all activities and those under 10 eat for free.

Sunday concludes the weekend with breakfast and worship in LVC’s Peace Garden from 9 to 10 a.m. Share in singing, prayer, scripture, and reflection. Chaplain Paul Fullmer will lead the relaxed and informal gathering. This year William J. Lamont, Jr. ’67, Professor of Vegetable Crops at Penn State University, will provide the message, titled “Seeds Mirror the Seasons of Our Lives.” In addition, Cecelia Reed Keehn ’62 will sing the hymn, “In the Garden,” an annual tradition at the Peace Garden worship service.
